"We are home in Nepal, outside of KTM valley, but this year we had the extraordinary lockdown situation and needed a quick solution to be hosted in KTM for a week... and CORA NEPAL took us in, with a curious toddler. In a these chaotic times, the sobriety and cleanliness and calm of the home was balm for the soul. Shei and Sid know how to welcome you and make you feel at home. All is super well organized and you will enjoy cooking and gathering in the kitchen. To me the garden was a big plus, you can add some fresh vegetables and herbs to your dishes, which makes you feel even more at home. It was comforting exchanging with them and the other guests, a short time, strong bonding little community...it could have lasted longer, but we had to take a flight. Thank you for making our departure less chaotic, leaving from home."

"My CORAntaine was just that: 2 weeks spent quarantined in a lovely home with heart and soul. As I was looking for a quiet place to rest and reset, the bright and warm design of Cora caught my eye online. I was glad to find out on site that, more than a stylish location, Cora keeps its promises and delivers great services thanks to the very kind couple of owners, Sid & Shei. They helped me to a great extent, from finding food around, to navigating Nepali culture (many many thanks!). Sids's pancakes and coffee with like-minded guests turned out to be the perfect way to start the day. Indeed, located at the core of the house, the kitchen was a hotspot for exciting conversations and shared meals. During my stay, I enjoyed staying in Lele Loft, a super cozy bedroom with killer lights from the terrasse and the street, just a step away from the kitchen. But first, I took the time to unravel in Cora’s Sanga Suite, which offers a spacious relaxing space wih a (inspiring) desk.
Overall, I appreciated the comfort I found in the safe and super clean facilities, nice location and outdoor spaces (that rooftop! and the beautiful garden...).
I already miss staying at Cora, see you soon Sid & Shei ✨(and Marlowe the cutest Nepali cat!)."

"Such a bright and warm place is the perfect home for your Nepali adventure! Shei and Sid manage to mix high hospitality standards (very clean place and many services) with great people skills that make you feel welcome. Always a nice chat and definitely some serious pancakes around the kitchen corner. I'll be back!! Many thanks!"

"Délicieux et relaxant séjour à Cora Népal, que je recommanderais à tous ceux qui aiment séjourner dans la trépidante ville de Katmandou. La villa est idéalement située, l’espace de vie est parfaitement aménagé, décoré, dans un style zen et dépouillé. Nos hôtes ont juste été parfaits, amicaux, bienveillants, et ils me manquent déjà... Le Népal me manque!
Delicious and relaxing stay in Cora Nepal, which I would recommend to anyone who likes to stay in the hectic city of Kathmandu. The villa is ideally located, the living space is perfectly fitted out, decorated, in a Zen and stripped down style. Our hosts were just perfect, friendly, caring, and I miss them already ... I miss Nepal!"

"Cora Nepal is a wonderful place with warmhearted and caring hosts. Whether a cup of tea after a long day, tips where to go, a nice talk or a yummy soup, Shei and Sid make you feel home in Kathmandu. And the location is wonderful, everything is nearby, and the garden and terrace are peaceful places of retreats. I already miss Cora Nepal and Kathmandu."

"The quiet and lonely alley is soft and stable, and nothing is redundant. The hosts use the house to show their inner thoughts. To some extent, it is the Garden of Eden and the residence of the soul. The cat named Marlowe jumped into my arms and fell asleep the first night I arrived, and I was surprised by this energy. English speaking host from Nepal and lovely hostess from Singapore, they created this residence. I will come back again, because the best home is when you live in, and then want to copy one!"

"喜欢这个公寓的白色、整洁、极简,从院子、楼道、楼顶和其它公共区域每一处都收拾得非常干净整洁。也许是男主人喜欢猫咪的缘故,他们家时常都有三两只猫咪在此玩耍逗留。女主人超级亲切、热心,会认真听取客人的需求,并对客人关怀备至。男主的善良和女主的亲情让每个在此居住的房客体会到暖暖的温存,真心喜欢!
Love the apartment's white, neat and minimalist, cleaned up from the yard, corridor, roof and other public areas. Perhaps the male owner likes cats. They often have three or two cats here to play and stay. The hostess is super kind and enthusiastic. She will listen carefully to the needs of the guests and care for them. The kindness of the male host and the affection of the female host makes every tenant living here feel warm and warm, and really like it!"

"The very friendly landlord, he and his wife gave us meticulous care. When we got off the plane, we sent them a message to remind us how we should find their place and when we arrived they come out to greet us. It was really warm of them to help us carry our luggage into the room. Their actual room is bigger than in the picture and very clean. The kitchen is clean and tidy. You can make your own breakfast. You can eat and do whatever you want, it's just as good as being in your own home. Staying in their house for three nights was ideal for us to rest, (the environment is very quiet). After Cora, we will go to Pokhara and they have allowed us to temporarily store large items in their home. They enthusiastically contacted the Taxi that would take us to the Pokhara bus stop and arranged the bus tickets for us in advance. We left at 6 am the next morning, and Sid made a special trip to see if our Taxi arrived at the door on time. He saw us into the car smoothly before heading back to bed. Worth sharing with my friends!"

"My stay at Shei & Sid's place was so lovely and exceeded expectations. They are so warm, friendly and the space is ultra-stylish and super clean! The bedroom suite was large and great value for money. I felt bad about forgetting my key and returning late one evening, and had to bother them late at night to open the door, but they were really nice about it. Had some great times in the shared kitchen chatting with Shei's parents, hanging out with Marlowe the cat and making tea. The kitchen is stocked with clean water, lots of tea, fruit, etc. Though there are many reasonably priced places to stay in KTM, I would not hesitate to recommend Shei & Sid's -- it was cozy, clean, stylish and ultimately felt like home and a place I wanted to return to in the evening. Also a great location (walking distance to many cafes, etc). The only thing is it is a bit cold in the winter with no heat in the room/washroom."

"I arrived here at 11:30 pm from a long flight. They made it so easy, just get your taxi driver to ring them (8-900 rupees). They were both there to greet me and have a chat at midnight with some tea, so I felt so at home. I love their style - local crafts, minimalist and detailed e.g. a hot water bottle for your bed. The kitchen is spacious and equipped for cooking. The bathroom has steaming hot water. They helped me with my last-minute plans for the next day. Thank you Sid and Shei for your beautiful home and accommodating me"

"There is love, Shei and Sid in every detail at Cora. This is the quintessence of what Airbnb is supposed to be about - intimate, personal, different - your home away from home. Set in an charming house with a variety of room sizes, the warm minimalism is beautifully executed, with nods to Nepali handicraft and nature. I stayed in the only room with an attached bathroom, but I realised it would not have bothered me to share bathrooms had I chosen other rooms that did. My two weeks here were with similarly minded other guests who respected the space and one another. My wish is that it is always as such. From taking the path down the road off the main road to entering the compound, Cora became my peace and refuge as well as my daily recharge, it's location shields you from Kathmandu's hustle beautifully. The kitchen is generously stocked for breakfast; Sid is excellent with omelettes and pancakes if he's pottering in the kitchen, the fridge is yours to share for your own food and Didi is there daily tidying up, with sheets changed once a week and laundry whenever needed at a minimal charge. Beds are comfy. Room furniture is stylish and sensible. Everything is exactly as described - in reality. My only suggestion would be perhaps battery operated? heaters in winter; i am mindful Cora engages in both electricity and water conservation in line with the ups and downs of Nepals'. I've had an amazing stay, in an energy and space that has relaxed me and let me be, with generous local information and gentle guiding, and true camaraderie. Right place, right time. If you find yourself here; you'll know. Ill be back. ❤️"

"I had an amazing stay at Cora Nepal. Shei and Sid are very sweet and welcoming. I felt home in no time. Facilities are very nice and cozy, very clean. It's the perfect place to stay longer term as you work in the study, cook in the kitchen and get laundry done. The location is also great, tucked away in a quiet street but close to Jhamsikhel area where lots of cafés and restaurants are located. I would definitely stay there again!"

"Cora is a peaceful, welcoming environment run by fantastic hosts. I felt immediately at home and really enjoyed the company of Shei, Sid and my fellow guests. The minimal style and plentiful light create a calming atmosphere and the location is extremely convenient. Cora is in a nice, laid back neighbourhood known for great shops, cafes and restaurants. It's also within easy reach of other popular areas (eg. Thamel, Patan old town) and offers quick access to the southern valley rim for when you want to escape the city. All in all, highly recommended as a base for your stay in Kathmandu!"

"This is my second visit. Cora won't disappoint. I spent a splendid time here as I did last time. Whether it is a short stay or a long stay, believe that Cora will be your first choice. Clean and tidy is the first impression of this place, cozy mattress, fluffy duvet, and tender tone non-glare lighting, all designed and arranged by the host's unique and insightful aesthetics in space and interior design. The location is not difficult to find, if you have any questions, please contact with host, they will help you find the right location. You can visit Patan's attractions by walking, observe the streetscape, culture and friendly people along the way, which is also a good experience for travelers. The host are very friendly and welcoming, very good at getting along, not stressful. Any questions about culture or sightseeing can be queried, I believe they will do everything they can to help you. Last but not least ! If you are lucky, you would meet a very cute and friendly cat who will spend good company with you."

"I came to Cora after working for several years in a rural part of Nepal. I was a little run down by work, but when I first visited Cora I was immediately struck by how intentional everything in the space is. Sid and Shei have created a sanctuary in a sometimes chaotic and disorienting city.
As an architect, I really appreciated the level of sensibility displayed in the minimalist and balanced interiors. I have been in Nepal for a while, and there are very few if not any spaces that can reach out to their visitors quite like Cora does. It must have been an incredible amount of work to renovate! But every bit of that effort is on display and clearly worth it.
Beyond the beautiful space, Sid and Shei’s home is well-located just near the main intersection in Sanepa, which gives the house a privileged location in the expat community. The house is a 10 minute walk from the main expat area, and a 10-15 minute taxi to the tourist backpacking district (depending on time of day), which means that you can have a peaceful space to relax and recharge without being too far from the action.
The hosts are always available to provide great tips on where to get the best food (true insider knowledge in a place like KTM), and there’s delicious ethical and local coffee on free-flow in the kitchen! For caffeine addicts like me this is great news, and I have also found a new favorite coffee blend. Very exciting. Depending on the season there are also fresh veggies that are harvested from the house’s lovely gardens, which the guests can share. There’s also a laundry and cleaning service available in the house.
In addition to the incredible amenities, dependable hot water, great hospitality, and wonderful space and hosts, I also met a couple of people who have become true friends while staying at Cora. All in all, I cannot recommend Cora Nepal enough to anyone interested in a short or extended stay. Thank you to Sid and Shei for such a wonderful experience, and a deep feeling of respite so far away from home."

“If you’re trying to escape from the hustles of the city, Cora Nepal is the place to stay. Sid and Shei are lovely and caring hosts who put a lot of thought and heart into the interior design of the house. I loved the light-flooded and white painted rooms, the white and beige colored decorations, the locally made ceramics and overall the relaxing spirit of the house. Both hosts support local projects, are open for interesting chats and give great recommendations for the neighbouhood and the overall stay. I enjoyed the fresh coffee, fruits and eggs provided for the perfect start into the day, the self-grwon vegetables from the garden and the environmental consciousness. The helpful and friendly Didi takes care of the house with a smile each day. From the beginning I felt welcomed and like home at Cora Nepal. Thank you for the great stay and all the best for your future projects.”

"Cora Nepal is a unique place. In Kathmandu you will rarley find a lot of hoses in a safe neighbourhood with such a heartful and light-flooded interior design, lovely decorations, friendly and flexible hosts who make sure that you feel welcome and comfortable throughout your stay, a lovely Didi who takes care of the rooms every single day, a Roof terrace to enjoy the mild evenings, a green garden filled with fresh vegetables and herbs and delicious and fresh breakfast facilities for the perfect start into the day. From the start I felt like home at Cora Nepal and was able to relax from the hustles of the city. The area of Sanepa is known for the delicious restaurants and cafés in walking distance. Great Yoga and Fitness studios are close by. Definitely my favorite place to stay also for a longer term in Kathmandu."

"Shei is an exceptional host and gave some top recommendations for places to shop and eat. We tried most of them with much satisfaction. The open kitchen for guests to cook breakfast and other meals is a brilliant idea as it allows anyone to prepare his own meals at all times of the day. The top floor kitchen is where most people socialise and share food. I would recommend Cora's place for long-term stay as it has that homely atmosphere. The location is in an upscale area with cafes, boutiques and bakeries."

"I would absolutely recommend staying with Cora - it was such a treat to stay here. As soon as I arrived to the guesthouse I was welcomed by Shei with open arms and she made me feel comfortable and at ease right away. As a solo traveller on a long term stay this was much needed, and I was even so lucky to have other long term "roommates" while I was here - which made me feel even more at home! The house is absolutely beautiful and you can sense the love and attention to detail that has been put into this project. The fresh fruits and eggs from the garden make a delicious breakfast along with local coffee, which you can either enjoy in the cosy kitchen or on the rooftop terrace (which on most days have an amazing view - you might even be able to see one of the Himalaya peaks while you're there). The room I stayed in (The Garden Room) was lovely decorated, with a nice cozy bed, thick covers and a hot water bottle (staying in Nepal in January can be very cold so this was sooo nice). The dogs can bark at night but during my stay I didn't find it too loud nor did it bother me. The top treat of it all though, is Shei. Shei has been the most wonderful host I could ever ask for. She truly cares for her guests and goes out of her way to make sure that you are comfortable. She know a lot about what goes on in the city and can give you all the tips you need to make your trip memorable. I will definitely stay here again given the chance!"

"It was an absolute delight to stay at Cora. Felt like home. Shei and Sid were great hosts and it was delightful sitting around the kitchen with them and other guests enjoying some masala chiya. Cora has been beautifully styled and I often forgot I was in the middle of Kathmandu. After 4 weeks in Nepal, the quality linens and amazingly fluffy pillows were a welcome treat! There was even an amazing view of the Himalayas from the roof on the 1 clear day I was there. Shei has great knowledge of the local area and especially good recommendations for places to eat. I highly recommend a stay at Cora!!!"

"Kitchen was very nice and the bedroom big with a nice desk. Also nice garden with some fresh vegetables and herbs ready to use! Also nice bedding. Just be aware that the mattress is made of cotton which can be quite hard on the back if not used to it...I was disappointed to have a shared bathroom as I thought I had reserved a room with an en-suite but is was not an issue in the end as they are just a few rooms that share the bathrooms...which were always clean..."

"One of the best Airbnb experiences I ever had and definitively my first choice whenever I come back to Kathmandu/Patan. Staying there for a longer time I appreciated the quiet atmosphere in this area with many restaurants, coffee shops and bars to work or hang out. Being only 15 min by taxi from the tourist center Thamel, it is also a good option for short term guests that wish to do some sightseeing during the day and have a quiet and cosy place to come back in the evening. The house is very clean and tidy providing everything one needs. Additionally, it has a very nice garden that provides many fresh vegetables that can be used for cooking. However, the best part about this Airbnb are the accommodating hosts Shei and Sid as well as their whole team. They are very friendly and kind persons who like to spend time together with guests and share their knowledge of the city if desired. I'm happy to call them friends and their place definitely feels like home.!"

"I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Cora Nepal for the last 2.5 months of my 5 month stay in Kathmandu. The hosts, Shei and Sid, are connoisseurs of comfort, managing to curate the perfect living environment for any type of traveler. As one of their first "long-term" visitors I was able to settle into space provided and take full advantage of all that Cora has to offer. The space is beautifully designed, with clean lines, simple but elegant furniture and amenities, and a spotless kitchen and bathrooms. On my move-in day, I was met with a big hug, help with my bag, and a spontaneous breakfast of homemade French toast and an affogato. The simplicity of Cora's design and the warmth of its hosts and guests give any guest the chance to "build their own adventure"; with everything you could possibly need at your fingertips, Cora can be anything you make it. From nights in watching movies as a house on another guest's projector, to a quick at-home workout on the rooftop (complete with stunning views of the city on all sides), to an impromptu dinner created from whatever bounty the garden has to offer that day, to a quiet evening spent reading and relaxing in your room, Cora Nepal truly is a gift.
When I first visited Cora to scope out my potential new digs, I was greeted by Sid who waved me through the gate from the home's beautiful rooftop terrace. Upon entering the gate I was instantly blown away by the green space - potted plants, lush green grass, and an expansive garden with ready-to-eat greens, eggplants, chilis, and much more. Having just spent over two months in monsoon season traversing the narrow and muddy streets of Old Patan (where grass and trees are rare if not non-existent), I could not believe the size of this private green space! The beauty of Cora's outside was supported by the calming interior. I stayed in the Lele Room, the smallest room and the only bedroom on the top floor, where one can find the kitchen, second shared bathroom, and roof access. Like all rooms at Cora, the Lele Room is incredibly modern and simple, which allowed me to settle right in and make the space my own for my longer-term stay. The size was perfect for someone who won't spend loads of time in their room. However, the room had copious natural light and a perfectly sized desk, so I was more than comfortable when I chose to spend time doing work or relaxing in my own space. I would absolutely recommend this room to any solo traveler, no matter the length of stay.
Rooms at Cora were cleaned weekly by the kindest woman on earth, who everyone affectionately refers to as "Didi" or "older sister". Laundry can be done for 500 rupees (USD$ 5) per bag, and was returned neatly folded either the same or next day. Shei sets a high precedent for cleanliness and it was lovely to see all guests being mindful of one another, easily cleaning up after themselves and keeping the spaces in near perfect condition. The hosts' consideration for their guests comfort creates a space where everyone is incredibly considerate of one another, whether that means allowing personal time for rest and relaxation or offering to share a cup of tea and a chat. Shei and Sid have a thousand wonderful recommendations for places to eat and things to see, and a group of guests would often go out together for a movie screening or a bite to eat. As someone in Nepal for work, the staple food items were key to getting me out the door on-time with a nice breakfast and a cup of coffee. Cora's proximity to countless NGOs, an amazing gym, dozens of shops and restaurants, and the well-known Yellow House Market (open on Sunday mornings) was just icing on the cake! I cannot thank Shei and Sid enough for the time I spent there. I would travel halfway around the world just to stay in Cora again...it really was a home away from home!"

"Reminiscing about our stay at Cora Nepal a few weeks ago. In the midst of all that Kathmandu offers to the senses, Shei’s place provides the balance and sanctuary that was most welcoming. The perfect place to recharge, rejuvenate and ‘just be’. She is a wonderful host and a generous encyclopaedia sharing Kathmandu’s gems. Even the garden at Cora Nepal is shared - the bananas make for the perfect breakfast! Thanks Shei for a wonderful stay."

"From the moment I step through the gates, I am greeted by a lush green garden that surrounds the house followed by a warm smiling greeting from Shei. Cora is so much about heart. I spent almost 2 weeks exploring the bustling, chaotic and colourful KTM and Cora was my haven to retreat to each night.
It is evident that Shei and Sid have thought through the needs of a traveller in this city. The house is clean, practical and designed minimally with the creature comforts of home. There has been great effort put into locally sourcing everything throughout the house including bedding, blinds, furniture, ceramic just to mention a few. My bed was super comfortable to sleep on, the locally sourced sheets and blankets were soft and fluffy which felt like home. I had a locally designed and made desk to work on during my stay which was such a blessing. The hot shower with a view out to the veggie garden was a relief at the end of the day.
The kitchen was well equipped if you wanted to cook and where self-serve breakfast was included with our stay. Luckily for me, I was able to pick my own veggies from the garden for some of my meals and tasted the bananas and pomelos that were growing in the garden which was a real treat! Didi (older sister as we affectionately called her) kept the house and gardens in meticulous order at all times with such a great smile!
There was always someone at hand to ask questions, you could choose to engage or not engage as you please. Shei and Bobby were both a great source of information if you ever needed directions or cultural insight or just a good ole yarn! I had many great engaging conversations with them and some of the other guests in the communal kitchen.
It was such a memorable and wonderful stay, there is a sense of calmness and casual comfort in the house as if it was home. It certainly is an oasis to come home to at the end of the day. Cora is warm hearted and I would definitely come back and highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the valley! Thank you Shei for having me!"

"My friends and I really like this hotel, where we spent the most comfortable time in Kathmandu. My friends told me every day after we went to Pokhara that they missed Cora and wanted to go back. From the first sight of seeing it, we feel that this is a very correct choice. Because Cora is clean, beautiful, comfortable and safe. Unlike Thamel's noisy bustle, Patan's Sanepa is quieter and cleaner. If you want to go on holiday, I suggest you live in Patan, because nothing is more important than a good rest. Our landlords are very good. We lived here for 5 days. We needed to call them almost every day to tell the driver how to get us home. We felt very sorry for giving them a lot of trouble. We tried to find our way back, but our attempts all failed. It was not until the last day that we learned how to get home, but unfortunately we had to leave. In fact, Google Maps can show the location, just enter Seto Ghar by Cora Nepal, but the live directions route takes you to the next street. There is also a school in the correct lane, which you can use as a landmark. We felt bad about troubling to the landlord, so we made a Chinese dish for them to thank them for their care. Unfortunately, I didn't see Shei, but I look forward to seeing her next time when I have the chance to come back for another month or two. Every day, I may just be strolling around and it’s very comfortable. Nepal is a magical place, and you don’t just want to go once. And because of Cora, it is more desirable."

"If you are venturing to Nepal for a short-medium term stint and want a cosy place that is like home away from home then look no further - Cora Nepal has you covered! We can't express our gratitude enough to Shei and Sid! We stayed at Cora for a total of about 6 months and we could have stayed even longer. My husband and I look for a few specifics when choosing a long-term stay location and Cora met all of our needs and more - here are a few highlights:
-Room: we stayed in the room with a private bath and we loved it! The design of the whole place is of course a reflection of Shei's brilliant architecture background :) The room had a lot of natural light and a desk perfect for working. The bedding was dreamy - there's a down comforter! This is hard to find and a real treat.
-Kitchen: if you love to cook like us, you will have no trouble here. The kitchen had everything you would need to make a great meal.
-Grounds: the house sits on a beautiful property with a garden in the back. If you work from home it's not a bad view :) There is also a roof top with a gorgeous view of the surrounding area.
-Hosts: Sid and Shei are two of the most lovely and thoughtful people. If you want to stay somewhere that the hosts become friends - Look no further! (We miss you guys!)
-Location: probably the best feature of all - Cora is in a great spot. We loved being able to access so much from here. Yellow House was our favorite Sunday brunch spot and is literally down the road (also a Sunday Market). I worked out at Pump - a gym nearby (15-20 min walk) or 5 minutes by moto. It's quiet around the house and accessible to everything else. Only a few dogs at night that like to bark ;)
-Price: I lived in Nepal on and off for two years before this trip and realized that a place as well designed as Cora comes at a larger price tag. You can spend anywhere from 1,000-3,000 USD in the Sanepa area where Cora is located (which we think is nuts!). Cora offers the luxury of a well designed environment at a fraction of the cost for the brilliant location.
We can't wait to visit again!"

"Cora was just what I needed for a few days of distraction-free work! I felt comfortable to go about my business as needed, but also I felt free to mingle with others who were in the kitchen at the same time as I was. The kitchen was more than adequate and had everything I needed. Thanks and see you again sometime!"

"This place is fa-bu-lous. An absolute gem in a wonderful neighbourhood. I hadn't stayed in Sanepa before, and the location is just great: easy walking distance to very nice shops, to a good yoga studio, and to numerous really great restaurants. Even old town Patan is in easy walking reach. The house itself is nicely set back from the main road in a quiet alley and it is just perfectly set up in a lovely minimalist style. Such a pleasure to come home to all that white and the cool monchromatic architectural details in wood and iron. The interior design is so well thought out and nicely "zen" without missing warmth. Great linen bedding, all the simple closet space one needs ... and the common kitchen is a total joy: well equipped and THE meeting place for lots of interesting guests. Did we ever have a good time hanging out together (on the roof terrace, too), cooking together, exchanging valuable tips from "old hand at Kathmandu" to "newbee at Kathmandu". I have been to KTM many times but this has defininitely been my most pleasant stay ever!!! (Also: great waterpressure and hot water all the time! Not to speak of good internet and a well ventilated house, of course!)."

"Sid and Shei are wonderful hosts who have created a lovely relaxing atmosphere and yet nothing is too much trouble. We asked them about hiring a moped locally but when it wasn't possible Sid lent us his motorbike. The rooms are large, light and airy and the beds had duvets - something we haven't seen in months of traveling! We had 24 hour use of the kitchen which is such a treat when you just want to sit with a cup of tea or coffee. This stay for us was mostly about getting our trikes from storage and doing some maintenance before our onward cycling and there was plenty of room to work on the trikes and store them safely! But in reality it was far more. A relaxing haven after Kathmandu with local eateries or home made dinners if preferred. Sid and Shei also gave us some wonderful tips on travel in India, our next country.”

"I had the most relaxing and peaceful stay at Cora when I visited after several months of traveling. The attention to detail, care and effort put into everything in the home and the hospitality of the visit was second to none. Shei and Sid took time to talk with me, give great suggestions for local activities, arrange taxis, enjoy dinners together, and most importantly just share their time and kindness with me. I really hope to come back to visit, and recommend anyone visiting KTM to stay here!"

"I can't fully describe the amazingness of Cora Nepal, but let my try to give you some ideas. I'll begin with the hosts, Shei and Sid, who are just marvelous people. From the moment we arrived Shei was extremely welcoming, full of information and care. First she made us some amazing Masala tea, and then she led us to the local Japanese restaurant for our first meal after two full days of travel. Following that, Shei was continuously on hand for advice, information, suggestions, friendly conversation and general support. I didn't get to know Sid until the third day of our stay when he joined us for board games and friendly libations. It was no surprise at all to find that he is also a wonderful and lovely person who is full of helpfulness and good information.
The house is clean, elegant, well designed, comfortable and welcoming. The decor is designed by Shei to be minimalist; very modern and sophisticated. I feel like I am in an art gallery, which is amazing because there is very little adornment.
The other folks staying in the house were all friendly and tend to be on the younger side, although my mother fit right in as one of the gang. The neighborhood is upscale, safe and cleaner than the rest of Kathmandu.
The kitchen is always clean, and always stocked with the basic staples like eggs, milk and bread. We had a delightful meal of eggs each morning which left us fortified for the day's sightseeing. When we had leftovers from dining out, we could leave them in the fridge until we ate them.
Last but not least the housekeeper, who I called "Didi" (a Nepali term for "older sister") because I shamefully did not learn her real name, is warm, attentive and diligent.
I cannot recommend Cora Nepal enough. I would not visit Kathmandu without a visit here, and it makes me feel happy to know that such a place exists."

"Cora is one of the best airbnb experiences I've ever had. Shei & Sid are awesome people & so kind. I really enjoyed my time there & wish it could have been longer. The house is immaculately curated with a beautiful minimalist design while still providing everything you need, it's such a peaceful & relaxing place to return to after immersing in the hustle & bustle of Kathmandu all day. The location is great, I had no problem walking to Patan or catching a cab within a few minutes walk up the street for further out destinations. & I had no problems with the shared bathroom as there are 2 bathrooms in the home and it was always incredibly clean. Highly recommend booking a stay at Cora Nepal!"

"Cora Nepal has me spell-bound. It is a true home away from home created with love, taste and purpose. I highly recommend shorter or longer stays with its beautiful hosts who will do everything to make you feel welcome."

"A haven of calm, cleanliness and kindness - Cora felt like a home from home from the first minute we arrived. Thoughtful simplicity with a certain minimalist style seem luxurious, even though rooms are basic. The kitchen became the center of this small community, due to the welcoming provision of good quality teas and breakfast foods. Shei and Sid are responsive and generous hosts, who do their best to make their guests feel safe and happy. When the government water delivery failed to arrive, they kept us all informed about the situation and went to great lengths to get the water back on asap - no easy task in Kathmandu. I recommend Cora without hesitation and thank Shei and Sid again for a wonderful stay."

"I could go on about all that I loved about Cora Nepal, from the nice quiet neighborhood to the cleanliness and wonderful conversations I’ve had with Shei and her partner. It’s very VERY hard to have anything bad to say. They’ve probably been more hospitable than my own family! (And I have a loving family :P). Shei responded to my questions almost instantly and had tended to just about everything I asked about. If you want privacy they will give you that, if you want company they’ll be upstairs in the kitchen in the evenings to chitchat. I met some interesting people who were staying in the other rooms as well, everyone fit the image of Cora Nepal- friendly, respectful and full of stories. Considering the amenities and frankly the hosts, I say it’s underpriced. My room had lots of space, hot water, a private bathroom and tasteful decorations and supplies. If I had a gun to head to name one thing that could have been different I would say it’s the neighbors across.. they were doing some remodeling and made a little noise every now and then- I believe they’re almost done though so you should be fine by the time you finish reading my review. I’ve enjoyed my stay and Nepal as a whole, I can confidently encourage you to book without regrets. Thank you Shei once again!"

"I stayed with Shei and Sid for a few weeks late 2017. They are simply the most amazing hosts I have ever had. They really take care of you providing you many little delicacies (Shei is quite a foodie and permaculture enthusiast which plays out to anybody's taste buds' advantage). Sid took fantastic care of all logistical needs and made sure to help with any inconvenience like an older brother would. Having worked abroad his English is brilliant and he loves to teach you many great things about Nepal as he grew up just around the neighborhood. The house is as clean as a 5*+ luxury hotel and very neatly designed and albeit simple - everything works flawlessly (referring to hot shower etc.) and if there are any problems it is fixed within a few hours instead of the usual few weeks. All in all I found a second home at Cora and next time I return to Nepal I will surely look no further."

"Who would have thought that my first encounter in Nepal, next to the nice taxi driver who took me from the airport to my accommodation would be with a man named Siddartha. This is a funny coincidence because whoever knows me knows that the book "Siddartha" by Hermann Hesse is my favorite book. I love the story of the Prince and have given it to my friends countless times.
“Cora Nepal” is the name of my accommodation in Kathmandu. Cora means "heart" and I had a heartfelt welcome here thanks to Sid, a Kathmandu man, and his wonderful wife Shei. Shei left her life in Singapore and her job as an architect to move to Kathmandu with the intention of creating a place with a heart in this somewhat overcrowded city. To create a place of silence and to welcome people from all over the world. A balance between the impulsive, colorful and inspiring Kathmandu and a simplicity to offer clarity and calm.
"Sid, who spent nine years abroad, also decided against western life and moved back to Nepal, feeling better about doing something in his country and contributing to the growth and development than to others anywhere in the world to work.
"That evening, Sid offered me ride on his bike, one of Kathmandu's main means of transport to discover Kathmandu (all other options do not make sense). I gladly accepted. The first day I went alone to explore Patan and was overwhelmed by the traffic. I thought nothing could beat Havana traffic, but Kathmandu surprised me. Here traffic lights do not regulate traffic, but simply a person in the middle of the road, who can hardly be recognized among thousands of cars, bikes and colorful saris. I only noticed this person 4 days later.
"The decision to stay in Patan and not in Thamel (the most touristic area in Kathmandu), my stay in Cora Nepal, and meeting Sid contributed to allowing me to discover parts of the city ordinary tourists would not experience. We swirled through dust and chaotic traffic to Sid's favorite Lassi booth, to Phewal Lake, where he used to swim as a teenager, to Buddhist monasteries and Hindu temples, to the largest stupas in the world through.
"I notice, It's not the page in the travel guide that make our trips special. It is the people we meet, who write our stories, opening up their world to us and letting them experience us through their eyes and stories."

"I give this Airbnb my highest recommendation. Shei and Sid are super hosts. Extremely kind, considerate, and accommodating. My flight was delayed and they graciously waited up for me until 2am for my check-in. They even checked in on me until I got to their Airbnb. The room and residence is immaculately clean and beautifully designed by Shei who is an architect. It was like staying in a five star eco friendly boutique hotel. Wifi connection is strong (a miracle in Nepal) and hot shower on the ready. I cannot recommend this Airbnb enough. They kept my luggage in a safe place when I went off on my one week trek. I'll be back to stay in one of their other rooms for another week once I'm back. I can't wait!"

"5-plus stars for Cora Nepal! The place is simple chic sophistication blended with homey comfort. The kitchen is stocked with the basics - filtered water, coffee, tea, bread, eggs, ghee, beans, pasta, rice, seasonings and sauces. Sid, Shei, and DeeDee provide heartfelt hospitality and support in my travels like families and we had conversations like long term friends. I felt extremely blessed and fortunate to have had Cora Nepal as my first Nepali airbnb experience and they will remain my top choice for my future travels to Kathmandu!"

"This was my second time staying at Cora and I cannot help but rave about it. I'm a frequent Airbnb user and this is hands down the best experience I've ever had. Nepal is already a special place, but Shei and Sid were able to make it even more magical through their hosting. They are one of a kind and such genuinely warm people to everyone they encounter. This Airbnb has my absolute highest recommendation. Details below:
Room: The Kirtipur room was a dream to stay in. A perfect place to relax and also work if one desired. Connected to the main bedroom is a study with a functional large desk paired with a comfortable single bed. This room is plenty for two guests, but I found it a bonus to have an airy and well lit place to also use as a private work space. Aside from short term stays, I also highly recommend this space to those seeking longer term stays for work engagements. Aesthetically, the residence is charmingly beautiful, permaculture inspired, and infused with design elements that are traditionally Nepalese.
Amenities: Immaculately clean, showers always hot and wifi connection strong. I cannot stress how difficult it is to find something comparable in Nepal. They also offer complimentary continental breakfast and a great tea / coffee selection. If you are lucky Sid will make you a great masala omelette! Truly a home away from home.
Location: Located in Patan (a cleaner and less touristy area of Kathmandu). The residence is just 20 mins away from the airport and within walking distance ~5 mins to nearby restaurants and 10 - 15 mins walk to central hubs such as restaurant row in Jhamshikel / Sanepa Chowk. Easy to find a taxi.
Hosts: Far exceeded my expectations. Both Shei & Sid come from the hospitality / design industry and have between them a wealth of knowledge on how to make their guests feel welcome, comfortable and at home. I found myself looking forward to heading "home" after my days of exploring the city. Sid grew up in Kathmandu and knows the area well. He is a great guide and showed me the city through a local's perspective away from the herds of tourists. Exploring Kathmandu with him on his motorbike and hearing his stories growing up made it even more authentic experience for me. Definitely ask him for a tour! Shei has great taste in restaurants and offers amazing suggestions for weekend getaways. She's lived a life well traveled and shares great travel reccommendations. Between these two awesome hosts you will have everything you need to navigate Nepal!
So glad to have stayed at Cora and look forward to coming back again soon."

Sid is a great conversationalist and tells you all about there is to know about Nepali and Newari culture. "Staying at Cora has been such a delightful experience. Even before we arrived, our communication with Sid & Shei made us feel welcome - they are genuinely lovely people. The modern minimalist decor is a refreshing sanctuary in the bustling Kathmandu valley. The kitchen provides a friendly communal space. The rooftop overlooking the city is a peaceful place to chill out and the backyard is developing into an organic Permaculture vegetable garden. We were very fortunate to be there during an event hosted by Cora - a Mooncake making workshop- which was fantastic (& delicious) fun. We absolutely loved our stay .... thank you!"

"Sid & Shei's place was just the perfect welcome to Nepal after a long flight from Oz not arriving until midnight. We especially appreciated Sid staying up for us to ensure we arrived at their place safely despite the time, meeting the taxi out on the nearby street to help direct us to their house. The suburb had its only little character, away from the hustle and bustle of the usual Kathmandu, with little shops and alleys to explore, gaining a more authentic and local experience. The rooms were very clean and spacious, with a contemporary design. The breakfast was an added bonus with an array of options from muesli to eggs and fruit. We were very fortunate to have been recommended this place and would highly recommend it to any other travelers. Many thanks Sid and Shei! Hopefully we'll be back again in the not too distant future."

"Wow! I had an absolutely brilliant time staying with Sid and Shei. In my 3 years of traveling the world and staying in different hostels, Airbnb's and couch surfing; this has been my best experience to date. The house is located in a great area of Kathmandu. Close enough to all the sites and hustle bustle but most impressively tucked away from the busy main streets. So the noise and dust doesn't reach you. It's a little oasis of its own. The house is spotlessly clean, spacious and has the best views to the surrounding hills and city from the rooftop. Breakfast included with an array to choose from yourself. Laundry taken care of for you. Reliable wifi. Hot showers and essential amenities provided (rare for Kathmandu). I had the ability to come and go as I pleased securely, and really felt like it was my home for the month. I even was able to leave my main luggage as I headed off for a week hike then returned for another stay. Sid and Shei are two of the warmest and kindest people you will meet with local knowledge on where to eat, shop, site-see, arrange tours/hikes, or even just for a wonderful conversation over a cup of tea or meal. They were always accommodating to my questions and needs. I even got my first ride on a motorbike. Some of my best experience's of Kathmandu were sharing time with my hosts. I would recommend anyone and everyone to stay here. Such brilliant value, and words fail my gratitude for these guys and their home. I look forward to a return visit!”

"My staying at Cora's was absolutely great, Sid and his sister Sumina are amazing hosts, always kind and present. I stayed for more than 15 days in a beautifully decorated room with bathroom in suite, very comfortable and cozy. At Cora's everything is on the right spot, decoration and furnishings are well thought and organized with a modern touch. They also make sure that breakfast is always freshly served, and they kindly take care of your laundry and cleaning of the room every three days. I would definitely recommend the house for short and long stays. Again, a big thank you to Sid and Sumina for their kindness."

"The staff are very nice and attentive, they make themselves available all day and always with a smile. They live just below the guesthouse and they are always reachable by phone or email. The house is structured in a very smart way and it is furnished in a very relaxing and elegant way. Shared spaces are well taken care of. Bathroom and kitchen are very comfortable and also always clean. In the kitchen there is a lot of space to cook and store your food and snacks. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden, which lets you escape from the traffic and the dust of the city. The house is located in a very good area nearby supermarkets, ATMs and other services. It is also very close to many NGOs and UN agencies. In terms of leisure, there are several cafes, restaurants, gyms and shops in the area. You could easily take a taxi from the house and arrive in short time in Patan and also Kathmandu centre."

"Everything about this stay was fantastic!! The house is clean and modern. It's a short walk to the main road. The bathroom had a very large shower space, a curtain to keep the whole room from getting wet, and hot water (all uncommon in the other places I stayed in Nepal). The shared kitchen is nice with continental breakfast type items offered. I didn't get to meet Shei, but Sid and his sister were so friendly and accommodating. They took care of everything. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return in the future. The cat is adorable, too."

"This was my first visit to Nepal and it was a delight to stay at Cora with Sid and his sister at Cora, they are lovely people and made my stay more comfortable and enjoyable. I booked the day before check in Sid was in contact straight away with clear instructions. I was their first guest so felt very lucky to be in the guest house which is set off the main road and beautifully decorated. The space they have created is clean, modern, fresh and tranquil. From the lighting to the handcrafted kitchen table and stools in the upstairs kitchen, each detail is well thought out with some lovely decorative touches. I stayed in a large room with a comfortable (for me) double bed - lots of space and clean though a couple of other additions like a full length mirror in the room would be handy. I love the fact that local materials were locally sourced or recycled to make bits of furniture. The family are preparing a kitchen garden to grown fruit and vegetables which will be an added bonus. The house is located in Sanepa which for me was walking distance to Patan Square though good to have a dust mask if you do walk, otherwise you can pick up a local taxi to get around. Sanepa is more much laid back and quiet in comparison to Thamel if you are looking for an area with good local shops including some organic and craft shops, restaurants which is less hectic this could be the place. Sid and Sumina are so friendly and hospitable I felt part of their family> They are very knowledge and helpful from general advice, tourist attractions shopping tips and getting taxis. I had a great time staying there and look forward to returning. A heartfelt THANK YOU to Sid and especially his sister Sumina who was so kind. It was a memorable trip I would recommend any traveller to stay at Cora it's certainly a home with a heart and I wish them every success with the guest house x"
